Choose on operating fit

Managed services is not one category.

A provider can be excellent at cloud infrastructure and still be the wrong choice for end-user support. Start with ownership, delivery model and coverage—then validate the technology.

01

Define what they own

Separate help desk, workplace, cloud, NOC, backup, security and project needs instead of buying an undefined bundle.

02

Choose the operating model

Decide whether the partner augments your internal team, assumes day-to-day ownership, or delivers a focused transformation project.

03

Validate the service reality

Confirm staffing, escalation, geography, tools, SLAs, transition plans and what is delivered directly versus through partners.

Interactive shortlist

The scores update with your selections. No universal ranking—and no five vendors receiving the same canned percentage.

The BizSprints method

Shortlist first. Due diligence second.

01

Prioritize outcomes

Translate operational pain into the services and ownership model that will actually change it.

02

Score observable fit

Compare provider capability evidence, scale, delivery approach, coverage and regulated-environment readiness.

03

Pressure-test the shortlist

Validate commercials, references, service boundaries, transition risk and governance before a final selection.

Frequently asked questions

What should buyers know?

What is a managed service provider?

An MSP operates agreed portions of an organization’s technology environment on an ongoing basis. Scope may include end-user support, devices, productivity platforms, cloud, infrastructure, backup, networks, security and advisory work.

Is co-managed IT different from fully managed IT?

Yes. In a co-managed model, the provider augments an internal team and shares responsibility. In a fully managed model, the provider assumes broader day-to-day ownership. The right choice depends on internal capability, risk tolerance and desired control.

How are the fit percentages calculated?

Each provider is scored against the priorities selected in the tool, plus company-size fit, delivery model, support coverage, regulated-environment readiness, specialization and evidence confidence. The output is directional—not a guarantee.
